Design & Build
The Q3 Pro is a true piece of metal art. The entire chassis is CNC-machined from a solid block of 6063 aluminum, then polished, anodized, and sandblasted through 24 manufacturing stages. The result is a seamless, weighty frame that feels far more premium than its price suggests. The double-gasket design uses silicone pads between the top and bottom cases in addition to plate gaskets, dramatically reducing metal resonance and acoustic ping. The KSA profile PBT keycaps are tall and sculpted, with a spherical-angle contour that feels comfortable once you adjust to the height. The aluminum rotary encoder knob on the top right is solid and programmable, though some units exhibit minor wobble. The standard model is a clean TKL layout, while the Special Edition adds four macro keys on the left side (note: those are soldered, not hot-swappable).
Performance
Typing on the Q3 Pro with K Pro Banana switches delivers a tactile bump that lands early and confidently, similar to a Panda-style feel. Factory lubing keeps scratchiness to a minimum, and the sound profile is deep and thocky with no chassis ping thanks to the double-gasket system. The PC plate provides a pleasant amount of flex across the entire board. Over USB-C, the 1000 Hz polling rate is imperceptibly fast for both typing and gaming. Bluetooth 5.1 is reliable for everyday use with support for three paired devices, but the 90 Hz wireless polling rate is a noticeable step down for competitive gaming. Battery life is excellent at up to 300 hours with backlighting off, dropping to around 100 hours with RGB at low brightness, and the 4000 mAh cell takes a few hours to recharge via USB-C.
