Design & Build
The Crosshair X870E Hero is a striking board with a dark, stealthy aesthetic combining matte black PCB, black heatsinks, and subtle RGB lighting on the chipset heatsink and I/O shroud. The ROG logo on the I/O shroud features addressable RGB with Aura Sync support. Build quality is exceptional - the PCB is a high-density 8-layer design optimized for signal integrity at high memory speeds and PCIe 5.0 signaling.
The VRM heatsinks are substantial, connected by a heat pipe, and the chipset heatsink is actively cooled with a small fan that only spins under load. Performance
