The Apple Watch Ultra 2, released in September 2023, is Apple’s most capable wearable, designed for athletes, divers, and outdoor adventurers. The Ultra 2 retains the bold 49mm titanium case with the signature orange Action Button and raised bezel protecting the sapphire crystal display. The Digital Crown has larger ridges for use with gloves, and the second speaker grille improves call and siren volume. The new Modular Ultra watch face takes advantage of the display’s edge-to-edge design. Build quality is exceptional, with MIL-STD 810H certification for shock, heat, and altitude resistance.
Performance
The S9 SiP delivers noticeably faster app launches and smoother animations than the first Ultra. The 3000-nit display is incredibly readable in direct sunlight, and the 1-nit minimum brightness is comfortable in dark conditions. Dual-frequency GPS (L1 + L5) provides superior tracking accuracy in urban canyons and dense tree cover. The precision dual-frequency GPS significantly improves distance and route accuracy for running and hiking. Battery life reaches 36 hours of normal use and up to 72 hours in low-power mode. The 64GB storage provides ample room for offline music and maps.
